In Action 2011 |
CHWC News
On
June
17-24th,
2011 Youth & chaperones from our Area Faith Communities headed to
Milwaukee
WI for a Catholic Heart Workcamp Mission Trip.
The week was filled with
cleaning, painting, ripping apart and rebuilding homes and facilities
to help
the poor of the inner city of Milwaukee.
Our youth were
exposed to different life-styles and saw that the work they did for the
week
was rewarding and satisfying. They sacrificed and slept on
hard floors with no air
conditioning. You would be proud, as they never complained and
truly
loved the experience. We came home a richer group than when we
lift.
Not because of money, but, because of giving
to others before ourselves. That is truly the meaning of
Catholic. Being
universal and serving the less fortunate.
WE are looking forward to our trip to
Champaign IL this coming July of 2012. Thanks for all your
support in the
past and in the future

We wish to thank our
Lady of the Prairie, Area Faith Community for supporting us
on our Mission Trip.Through your help we
met Jesus in the homes and places we served. The
poor
of
Milwaukee
were
the
face
of
Jesus and we were given the opportunity to touch their hearts and they
touched
ours. |
